My bike was built at around 2 today (remember PR doesnt do daylight savings time so were an hour ahead of the N-Y). The bike felt good, they did a good job putting it together, that was one of the things i was stressing about. I put in some hard mileage around Old San Juan, Condado, and Isla Verde. The mileage wasnt alot but i rode it as hard as i could.
The first 5 miles felt horrible, i instantly thought if this is what i feel like on Friday i am toast and started feeling bummed that i couldnt get any riding in any sooner, however the more i rode the stronger i felt. I rode all over coblestone OSJ. The first time i did everything went fairly smooth, the second time there was more traffic and that big hill up towards La Fortelza had me get behind a car that had stopped in the middle of the hill. That forced me to unclip...and that was a wrap, i couldn't reclip and get up the hill, i had to walk the bike back down the hill then from the base build up momentum to make it over. I really really really need to make sure i stay out of the Peleton when hills pop up or i will be in big trouble.
Tomorrow i will not ride hard i will put on more miles but ride very light. Friday is the BIG day.
